Visual Impairment
Visual Impairment Awareness Level 1

(There is also a Level 2)

Aims:

To enable all participants to understand all aspects of sight loss.

To understand the effects that other disabilities have on a individual’s ability to utilise their other senses.

This training includes many practical elements and uses particular equipment to give attendees an experience of the visual changes other people may experience.

By the end of the sessions participants will:-

•Understand how the eye works

•Know  how  to look for sight loss

•Understand the different types of visual impairment

•Will know  how  to work with people with multiple disabilities
